Update – Large fire 100% contained, says KCFS

CASSETT, SC (WOLO) –According to the Kershaw County Fire Service, as of 7 p.m., Saturday’s fire is 100% contained. Seven structures including barns, sheds, and abandoned houses, were burnt.

Seven different fire departments with 28 trucks responded to the incident.

The fire will continue to smoke for a few days, says KCFS.

CASSETT, SC (WOLO) — According to the Kershaw County Fire Service,  fire crews from multiple counties are working to control a fire in the area of Cheraw Road and Holland Lane.

Fire crews from Kershaw County, Sumter County, Lee County, Lancaster County, Chesterfield County are on the scene working to bring the flames down.

Drivers and residents to avoid the area until the flames are cleared, and that smoke will be present for an extended period of time.
