Deputies: Two arrested after shooting at trooper

Orangeburg Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Deputies in Orangeburg Co. say two men are in custody after shooting at a SC Highway Patrol Trooper Saturday.

According to authorities around 3am Saturday the trooper saw a Ford Explorer commit a traffic violation on Bamberg Rd. south of Orangeburg prompting a chase ending on John C. Calhoun Dr.
Deputies say the trooper did not return fire.

Investigators say the trooper was not injured and was conducting a lawful traffic stop at the time.

Deputies say Labaron Washington, 37, and Brandon Green, 36, are both charged with attempted murder.

Investigators say Washington is also charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
