Fire Service Legislative Day

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Firefighters from all across South Carolina were at the State House Wednesday, March 4, as part of Fire Service Legislative Day.

Firefighters met with lawmakers talking with them about bills that could help the industry.

Among the measures firefighters are supporting this year are laws impacting the retirement savings of first responders and the Halo Bill which creates a buffer zone between civilians and emergency responders during the line of duty.

Firefighters also recognized legislators who have championed their causes in the state house.
