Two Columbia men face drug charges following Key West arrest

KEY WEST, FL (WOLO) — According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office in Key West, Florida, two Columbia men were arrested Sunday morning for multiple charges.
Police say a handgun and drugs were found following a stop on U.S. 1.
Thirty-four-year-old Alberto Gutierrez was charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.
Forty-four-year-old Andre Coker was charged with cocaine trafficking, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The Sheriff’s Office reports it stopped a BMW sedan for speeding at approximately 3:30 a.m. near Mile Marker 30. Officers say Gutierrez was the driver and found a THC pen in plain view and the vehicle was “emanating an odor of marijuana.”
Officers say a loaded .45-caliber Glock, more than 68 grams of cocaine, more than 21 grams of marijuana, and seven prescription pills were found in the subsequent search — as well as $641 in cash.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that Gutierrez has pervious narcotics- and weapons-related offenses.
