Sumter deputies search for missing elderly woman with dementia

SUMTER CO., S.C. (WOLO) – Sumter County deputies are searching for an elderly woman with dementia who went missing this week.

According to investigators, Bun Ortstad, 90, left her home on Drexel Drive on Thursday before 4:45 p.m.

They believe she may have walked to a beauty salon on Peach Orchard Road to get a ride. Deputies say they’re searching the area.

She’s 5’4″, weighs 120 pounds and was last seen wearing black shoes, blue jeans, and a maroon vest.
