Victim identified in fatal house fire on Harmon Road

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – The Richland County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal house fire on Friday.

Coroner Naida Rutherford identified the victim as Todd M. Hackett, 60, of Hopkins.

According to investigators, Columbia firefighters were dispatched to a house fire on the 500 block of Harmon Road at around 5:40 a.m.

Firefighters say the fire was throughout the home but they were able to extinguish it.

During searches of the home, they found Hackett’s unresponsive body in the front bedroom.

The Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
