Midlands lawmaker proposes naming part of I-77 after President Obama

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)–A Richland County senator has proposed legislation renaming part of I-77, President Barack H. Obama Highway.
Senator Darrell Jackson (D-Richland Co.) says the name would be applied to the stretch of 77 between U.S. Highway one and I-20.
Senator Jackson says President Obama’s leadership inspired a generation and broke barriers that once seemed impossible.
The measure comes after the SC house approved measures to name a stretch of highway in Horry County after President Donald Trump.
