Lexington County man arrested in connection with 13 sexual exploitation of minors charges
LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Lexington based worship artist & interim pastor has been arrested in connection with the sexual exploitation of minors.

Attorney General Alan Wilson says Richard Channing Shealy, 53, was arrested on 13 charges of sexual exploitation of minors.

An investigator in the Attorney General’s Office initiated the case after seeing files shared online, according to the AG’s Office.
Investigators state that Shealy distributed and possessed files of child sexual abuse material.
His website identifies him as a musician, a worship leader as well as the husband of Lexington School District 1 Vice Chair Beth Shealy.
Shealy was arrested on March 26, 2026, and charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor (second degree), and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor (third degree).
He faces a maximum of 130 years in prison if convicted on each count.
He will have a bond hearing Thursday, March 26 at 3 p.m.
As of today, his name doesn’t appear n the Lexington County Detention Center inmate roster.
