Traffic stop led to a drug arrest, say Sumter County deputies
SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter County deputies say a traffic stop led to a drug arrest.

Investigators say around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, March 25, a deputy pulled Derrick Ford over on Red Bay Road after he was seen throwing items into the yard of a nearby home. (PHOTO: SUMTER CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE)
Investigators say around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, March 25, a deputy pulled Derrick Ford over on Red Bay Road after he was seen throwing items into the yard of a nearby home.
According to deputies, when they were searching for the items Ford threw they saw him hiding drugs under a car.
After a brief chase, deputies arrested Ford and charged him with trafficking cocaine, meth, and crack.
