RCSD, Prisma Health partner up for gun safety
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is partnering with Prisma Health to promote gun safety.
Tuesday afternoon, April 7, Sheriff Leon Lott announced his department and Prisma Health Hospital will distribute gun boxes and gun locks to encourage people to properly secure their firearms.
Sheriff Lott says over the past two years, eight children have ben hurt in accidental shootings due to unsecured guns.
Deputies are handing out the boxes and locks tonight until seven at their headquarters on Two Notch Road.
They will also distribute them this Sunday, April 11, at 518 Smokehouse in Chapin.
