SCDNR: Hunting deaths down in 2025

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Fewer lives are being lost in hunting-related incidents in South Carolina, according to the SC Department of Natural Resources.

Officials say the state recorded two hunting-related fatalities in 2025, which is down from five the year before.

Officials said the decline represents a growing emphasis on safety, awareness, and shared responsibility outdoors.
