7 charged in connection with Fairfield Co shooting that injured 7-year-old

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Fairfield Co. Sheriff’s Office has charged seven people in connection with a shooting that occurred on Blair Circle in Winnsboro, say deputies.

On Monday, April 6, 2026, deputies initially responded to a report of shots fired, and found multiple shell casings in the roadway on Blair Circle.

Among the findings was also multiple bullet strikes to a home there.

A 7-year-old child inside the home was hit by gunfire, and sustained a gunshot wound to her lower left leg.

The child was taken to a hospital in Columbia, where she underwent surgery to remove the bullet.

Law enforcement says she has since been released but faces a long road to recovery.

Investigators determined that the shooting stemmed from an incident earlier in the day.

And they also concluded that two vehicles carrying a total of seven individuals arrived in the area shortly after 11 p.m.

The individuals are accused of exiting their vehicles, approaching within around 130 feet of the home, and firing no fewer than 18 rounds into the home and a nearby vehicle before leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been charged:

• Davon London Ashford, 19, of Winnsboro – Conspiracy, Attempted Murder, Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, Assault and Battery 1st Degree, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Discharging a Firearm into a Dwelling (remains in custody)
• Raekwon Alfonzo Hollins, 20, of Winnsboro – Conspiracy, Attempted Murder, Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, Assault and Battery 1st Degree, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, and Discharging a Firearm into a Dwelling (currently wanted)
• Akeem De’Shawn Montel Gibbs, 29, of Winnsboro – Conspiracy (remains in custody at the Fairfield County Detention Center)
• Nas’Ce Ty’Vale Kelley, 23, of Winnsboro – Conspiracy (not yet in custody)
• Breshanna Marie Gibbs, 18, of Winnsboro – Conspiracy (remains in custody)
• Antorio Quinteae Kennedy, 18, of Winnsboro – Conspiracy (not yet in custody)
• A juvenile male, 16– Conspiracy (referred to Family Court)

Sheriff Will Montgomery states, “We continue to keep this family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time, and we sincerely appreciate the members of our community who have come forward to assist in this investigation. These senseless acts of violence have no place in Fairfield County, and we will continue to pursue those responsible to the fullest extent of the law.”

This case remains active and ongoing.

Additional charges are possible as investigators continue to review evidence and conduct interviews, says the sheriff’s office.
