Newberry Co. man accused of sexual assault involving minors

NEWBERRY COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– A Newberry County man is accused of sexual assault involving minors.

Investigators say Tommy Woods of Silverstreet is charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct.

Deputies with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office say, the investigation began after a victim came forward to report the assault.

As the investigation continued, deputies say additional victims were identified.

During a search of his home, recovered multiple electronic devices, marijuana, firearms, and items believed to be associated with sexual crimes.

Woods was taken to the Newberry County Detention Center where he was booked and remains under a $200,000 cash bond.

Deputies are asking anyone with additional information to contact the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.
