SC Senate passes Monument Protection Bill
COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Inside the SC State House, the Senate passed a measure that protects the states historical monuments as well as street and building names.
The measure would prevent the monuments from being removed or changed without approval from the general assembly.
Also, the measure bans QR code stickers from being placed on the statues to give more information about the historical figure involved.
Supporters of the codes say they could provide more information about the actions of confederate or segregationist figures.
