Richland County deputies investigating attempted Blythewood ATM theft
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies are investigating an attempted ATM theft in Blythewood, said the sheriff’s dept.
On April 17, 2026, at about 2:40 a.m., deputies responded to an alarm at First Community Bank.
When deputies arrived to the bank, they discovered an ATM had been forcibly removed from the ground and left lying on its side, partially cracked open.
Money remained inside the machine.
Deputies obtained surveillance footage showing a pickup truck which is believed to have been stolen from a company in the Charlotte area, attempting to remove the ATM.
The vehicle has been linked to a previous ATM theft attempt, said RCSD.
