FanDuel looks at prediction markets
(CNN)– The sports betting platform FanDuel is leaning in to the ‘prediction market’ business.
The market lets people trade on real-world events, like the economy or the weather.
The company says it is making the move because online sports betting is still illegal in many states.
These ‘real world’ markets are seen as trading products rather than gambling.
That means they are regulated by the federal government and not individual states.
But Fanduel says it will not offer bets on war or elections.
