SLED: Woman arrested for officer-involved shooting issuing a Blue Alert

BARNWELL CO., S.C. (WOLO) – SLED has arrested a woman for a shooting that injured a police officer & issued a statewide Blue Alert Monday.

According to investigators, Lacey Cushman, who was considered armed and dangerous, was involved in the shooting that injured a Springfield Police officer in the Blackville area of Barnwell County.

SLED says a Blue Alert is a program designed to broadcast critical information to the public as quickly as possible to assist in the apprehension of any offenders who allegedly harm or kill any law enforcement officers.

Again, Cushman is in custody as the investigation continues.
