Gas prices jump to new high

(CNN)– Gas prices have jumped to their highest level since August of 2022.

According to AAA, the national average is now $4.18 a gallon.

The 6-cent spike is the biggest one-day increase in five weeks as oil prices rise amid uncertainty in the Iran conflict.

Concerns over stalled talks and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz are pushing costs higher while U.S gas inventories continue to drop.

Analysts say prices could climb even more, possibly hitting $4.30 a gallon in the next ten days.
