U.S. hiring rebounds in March
(CNN)– New data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics is showing hiring rebounded in March.
The latest jobs survey showed U.S. businesses hired an estimated 5.5 million workers.
Now, that’s up from 4.9 million in February.
Layoffs jumped higher for the second consecutive month, but remained near historic lows.
The new data indicates the U.S. labor market has been steady but slow moving during the early weeks of the Iran conflict, but economists expect the ongoing conflict with Iran and the related oil and supply issues will suppress U.S. hiring activity.
