Gas prices rise as oil prices lower

(CNN)– Gas is up another two cents Thursday, May 7.

AAA says regular gas is averaging $4.56 a gallon.

Here in South Carolina, the average is $4.21 a gallon.

The good news is oil markets are signaling relief for American pocketbooks.

The U.S. benchmark, WTI, is roughly near $90 a barrel.

Today is the second day it’s posting declines.

Brent Crude is below a $100 after weeks above that mark.

The declines come amid hope for a long-term ceasefire deal with Iran.
