2.3 magnitude earthquake reported near Winnsboro
WINNSBORO, S.C. (WOLO) – The U.S. Geological Survey has reported a 2.3 magnitude earthquake near Winnsboro this morning.
Officials say it happened at 7:25 a.m. about 10 miles Northwest of Winnsboro.
This comes after a 2.3 magnitude quake hit near Winnsboro on April 21.
The South Carolina Emergency Management Division says this is the 17th earthquake so far this year.
No damage or injuries have been reported from this recent earthquake.
According to SCEMD, approximately 10 to 15 earthquakes are recorded annually in South Carolina with 3 to 5 of them felt or noticed by people.
