Musicians have trouble selling seats due to rising ticket costs

(CNN)– Some musicians are canceling dates and even entire tours amid weak ticket sales.

Industry watchers have dubbed it “blue dot fever” due to the blue color used to mark unsold seats on Ticketmaster’s website.

The Pussycat Dolls, Post Malone, Megan Trainor, Jelly Roll and others have canceled shows this year.

Anyone who has bought tickets recently knows exactly what the problem is, shows are expensive.

The average concert ticket price is now $144, way up from $115 just last year.
