USPS loses $2 billion in 2nd quarter

(CNN)– Things aren’t going so well at the post office.

The U.S. Postal Service on Friday reported a net loss of $2 billion for the latest quarter.

While that may sound like a lot, it’s actually an improvement over its $3.3 billion loss a year ago.

Still, Postmaster General David Steiner said his agency is in a “cash crisis.”

He wants Congress to raise its $15 billion borrowing cap.

If you feel like you’ve heard all this before you’re right.

The postal service has been losing money for nearly 20 years.
