Westwood HS placed on secure status following phone call

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Westwood High School was placed on secure status Wednesday afternoon.
Richland County deputies say the school received a threatening phone call.

A spokesperson for Richland School District 2 says secure status means that class has continued normally but students didn’t leave campus, and no one entered campus until dismissal.
Investigators say they ultimately determined the call was a hoax.
