Annual Lexington Law Enforcement Memorial Service honors those killed in the line of duty

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO)– Weds morning, May 13, law enforcement agencies across Lexington County came together to honor fallen who officers have served their local communities.

The annual event recognizes those who were killed in the line of duty dating as far back as 1897.

Officers that spoke with ABC Columbia say those who sacrificed their lives will never be forgotten.

According to Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon, the memorial service has taken place for the last 14 years during this week in May which is recognized nationally as Police Week.
