Suspected Prowler Shot and Killed

(WOLO) ANDERSON COUNTY,S.C., — Deputies are investigating a fatal shooting in Anderson County that happened after the homeowner reported someone was trying to break in his house. Authorities say the homeowner first called 911 to report a prowler around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. Before deputies arrived, the homeowner called 911 again to say he shot the intruder. The coroner’s office identified the dead man as 28-year-old Leandus Pickens of Columbia. Authorities say someone in the home knew Pickens. Deputies are investigating the circumstances around the shooting and no charges have been filed. (Source: Associated Press)
