Iran conflict continues to drive up prices at the pump

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– The conflict with Iran continues to drive up prices at the pump.

As of Thursday, May 14, 2026, AAA reports the average for regular gas is $4.53 nationwide, and here in South Carolina drivers are paying $4.19 a gallon.

AAA says the highest average ever recorded in the state is $4.60 a gallon in 2022 following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
