Survey: 7 to 10 don’t want Ai data centers built
(CNN)– A new gallup survey finds most Americans don’t want artificial intelligence data centers built in their communities.
Seven in ten people surveyed said they would oppose the projects.
Many cite concerns about environmental impacts including high water and energy use.
Others worry the massive facilities could drive up utility costs and hurt quality of life.
The survey found opposition to Ai data centers was even higher than opposition to living near a nuclear power plant.
Supporters, meanwhile, point to potential economic benefits including job creation and new tax revenue.
