RCSD investigating early morning Decker Blvd shooting after ShotSpotter alert
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an early morning shooting that happened on Decker Blvd, say deputies.

On Weds, May 20, 2026, at about 2:50 a.m., deputies responded to the Decker Blvd./Plainfield Road area for a ShotSpotter alert.
When deputies arrived to the area, they were advised by dispatch that an individual had been shot at that location, left the scene and was now located in the I-277/Exit 20 area.
Deputies arrived at the victim’s location, and saw a male who had received a gunshot wound in the upper body area.
The male was taken to a local hospital by EMS for medical treatment.
RCSD says this is an active and on-going investigation.
