Meta lays off 8K workers

(CNN)– Robots are coming for jobs at Meta.

Ten percent of its workers were notified Weds, May 20, that they are out of a job.

That’s about eight-thousand people.

Meta is redirecting their salaries to invest even more into artificial intelligence.

The company plans to use at least 115 billion dollars worth of capital expenditures into Ai development this year.

Also, about seven-thousand workers who don’t lose their jobs will be reassigned to work on Ai.
