2 shot in Prosperity confrontation, police continue search for suspect

PROSPERITY, SC (WOLO) — The Prosperity Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred during an early morning party at the Miller Street Apartments, located at 635 South Main Street in Prosperity.

According to Chief Wesley Palmore, two male victims sustained gunshot wounds and were transported by privately owned vehicle for medical treatment at local hospital. Both victims are reported to be in stable condition.

Witnesses stated that an unidentified middle-aged Black male became involved in a brief confrontation before firing a weapon and fleeing the area.

The Prosperity Police Department was assisted by the Newberry Police Department and the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office.
