Many workers are retiring early

(CNN)– Many U.S. employees are leaving the workforce early.

According to new research from the retirement risk survey, roughly 59% retire sooner than they had expected.

Health setbacks were the main factor.

Other reasons include: job dissatisfaction, and having a large enough nest egg.

The findings are based on interviews with more than two-thousand retirees and pre-retirees.

Two other surveys of working and retired Americans show the average age for a person to retire is 62.
