Richland County deputies investigating stabbing at a Midlands jail
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County deputies are investigating a stabbing that happened at a Midlands jail on Tuesday, said RCSD.
Authorities said, on May 26, just after 1:30 p.m., Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center staff notified Richland County Sheriff’s Department investigators of a stabbing that occurred.
Deputies responded to the jail and saw two inmates that had sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s dept.
One of the inmates were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
During the initial investigation, a sharp object was recovered, said deputies.
This is an active investigation.
