Sumter Police searching for man who may have information on fatal Tuesday shooting

SUMTER, S.C. (WOLO)– Sumter Police are searching for a man who may have information on a fatal shooting that happened Tuesday, May 26.

Police say they want to question 20-year-old Vishawn Witherspoon about the isolated incident on North Magnolia Street.

According to investigators, around 5:30 p.m. they responded to a domestic dispute, and found 23-year-old Williams O’Neil Jr., with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Two other people suffered minor injuries.
