CRFD contain fire at vacant Decker Boulevard business
RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– CRFD says 3rd shift fire crews were able to contain a fire that quickly spread through a vacant business off of Decker Boulevard.
Shortly before 8:50 p.m. on Weds, June 10, units were en-route for a fire dispatch after seeing a good amount of smoke in the air, says the fire dept.
Upon the firefighters arrival, crews found fire blowing out of the front windows of the building and smoke throughout the vacant business off of Decker Boulevard.
Firefighters made entry and began extinguishing the fire in the roof area.
Crews then pulled out of the building and fought the fire from the perimeter after seeing parts of the roof were beginning to sag, according to Columbia-Richland Fire Dept.
After regrouping, firefighters entered the rear of the building and the fire was fully extinguished.
No one was found inside the building and there were no injuries.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Richland County Fire Marshal’s Office.
