Deputies: Two women charged in connection with Summit neighborhood shooting

Richland Co., S.C. (WOLO)– Richland Co. deputies say two women Alicia Magwood, 46, and Arrington Jones, 17, for helping Sireon Beaufort who is charged with the attempted murder of three RCSD deputies.

Investigators say in the early morning hours of June 4th, Richland Co. deputies responded to a shooting the Summit neighborhood in Northeast Richland Co. Shortly after they arrived, officials say, several suspects began firing on the deputies.

According to Sheriff Leon Lott, several hours after the shooting Magwood and Jones drove Beaufort back to the scene of the shooting to look for a bag containing guns used in the incident.

Deputies say Jones had a child with Beaufort and Magwood is Jones’s mother.

Investigators say on June 5th Magwood and Jones drove Beaufort to RCSD headquarters where he turned himself in.  At that time, authorities say, it was discovered that Magwood and Jones drove to the station in the same car used in the incident. The car was searched and deputies say they found a bag containing drugs and a stolen gun.

Monday deputies say Magwood and Jones turned themselves in and charged Magwood with Accessory After the Fact of a Felony, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, Possession of a Schedule I-IV Narcotic, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
