Richland County former deputy arrested, charged with DUI

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says a former deputy has been arrested and charged with a DUI.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, on July 3, they were conducting a traffic stop of 36-year-old Michael Kennedy who was suspected of driving under the influence.

At the time then Deputy Kennedy was off duty and driving his personal vehicle.

Following his arrest Sheriff Lott said he was immediately suspended without pay and is no longer employed with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
