Pedestrian killed in vehicle collision on US-21 in Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG CO., S.C. (WOLO) – The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office has identified a pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle on US-21 Thursday.

Coroner Sean Fogle identified the victim as Cecil F. Jamison, 62, of Bratton St. in Columbia.

According to Lance Corporal Brittany Glover, at 3:10 p.m., Jamison was walking east on US-21 at McMichael Street attempting to cross the road, when he was struck by a 2021 Honda Ridgeline.

Jamison was taken to the hospital where he died from multiple blunt force injuries, while the Honda driver wasn’t hurt.

Highway Patrol is investigating this incident.
