Parts of Elmwood Avenue, Assembly Street temporarily closed for repairs, says CPD
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — The Columbia Police Department advises motorists that Elmwood Avenue is closed between Park Street and Main Street. Additionally, Assembly Street is closed from Calhoun Street to Elmwood Avenue as Dominion Energy and City of Columbia Public Works crews respond to and repair the affected area.
Current Road Closures:
Elmwood Avenue: Park Street to Main Street
Assembly Street: Calhoun Street to Elmwood Avenue
Traffic Detour:
Motorists are being rerouted via Calhoun Street.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to reduce congestion and allow repair crews to work safely.
At this time, repairs are expected to take approximately 8 to 12 hours or longer, depending on conditions.
