South Carolina's 2026 Tax Free Weekend is set for Friday August 7-9, 2026.
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– It is almost back to school time! South Carolina’s 2026 Tax Free Weekend is happening August 7-9, 2026.
According to the South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR), during the sales tax holiday, the state law allows shoppers to purchase eligible items without paying state or local sales tax.
To help shoppers know what items are eligible for Tax Free Weekend, SCDOR has provided the following categories:
1. School supplies
2. Computers and technology
3. Clothing and footwear
4. Certain bed and bath items
