(WOLO) COLUMBIA,S.C., — You may only take your eyes off the road for a few seconds, but according to statistics, those seconds can be deadly. Miss South Carolina Brooke Mosteller says more teenagers are killed nationwide behind texting and driving then those killed in drunk driving crashes. Wednesday, Moseteller and 50 other pageant contestants went to the statehouse where they signed a pledge not to text and drive, and urge lawmakers to pass a bill banning it statewide. So far South Carolina is only one od two states that does not ban texting while driving.
