Local Living: SCDVA’s back-to school-drive, toiletry drive, Soda City Comic Con, Vintage Market Days

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)— In today’s look at Local Living, the South Carolina Department of Veterans Affairs is still hosting its back to school drive.

It runs now through Friday, August 14.

You can drop off school supplies at participating locations to help military connected kids.

You can donate to the City of Columbia and Sistercare’s Toiletry Drive to help victims of domestic violence.

They are looking for donations like facial wipes and liquid hand soap.

You can donate through October 31.

Soda City Comic Con returns to the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center next weekend.

There will be over 150 artists, vendors, cosplayers and more.

Special guests include Wilson Bethel and Taylor Gray.

It takes place Saturday, August 22, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, August 23, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Vintage Market Days will head to the state fairgrounds later this month.

The event features handmade items, clothing, yummy treats, family-friendly activities, and more.

It takes placeAugust 28 and August 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and August 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
