Job Opening: News Executive Producer

ABC Columbia News-WOLO TV, has an immediate opening for an experienced Executive Producer in the capital city of  Columbia, S.C.

Must be able to manage daily assignments, schedules, news content, daily production for 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m.

This position will also serve as the producer for our 6 p.m. newscast during the week.

This position requires candidates to work independently to plan, assign, execute reporter and photographer schedules, manage news gathering, and more.

The Executive Producer helps to oversee reporters, to approve scripts daily, make assignments and produce the 6 p.m. newscast.

Must be able to handle and coordinate breaking news. This position will serve as back up in the News Director’s absence.

The qualified candidate should be a newsroom leader with excellent editorial judgement and newsroom planning skills.

We are looking for a talented, hardworking professional who can lead, manage, oversee, produce and work under pressure.

3 years managing, producing experience required.

Degree in Journalism or Communications preferred.
