Summer movie box office sets record
(CNN)– The Summer box office just set a new all-time record.
Domestic ticket sales from May 1st through Labor Day hit $4.76 billion, according to Rentrak.
That edges past the previous record set in 2013.
This was also the first Summer ever with each of the four months topping $1 billion in sales.
“Spider-man: Brand New Day” led the charge with $923 million domestically.
“The Odyssey” also delivered earning $589 million in North America.
