Lexington Co. coroner identifies person

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Lexington Co. Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who died in a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident.

The incident happened at the 105 mile-marker westbound of I-26 in the Columbia area of Lexington County on Tuesday, September 7, at around 4:10 a.m.

According to Coroner Fisher, Robert Edward Dove, 42, of Easley, was walking in the roadway on I-26 when he was hit by a vehicle traveling westbound.

Dove was pronounced dead at the scene due to the injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Dove remained at the scene.

Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the incident.
