Man charged with felony DUI in crash that killed 3

RIDGELAND, S.C. (AP) — State troopers say a man is charged with driving under the influence in a Jasper County crash that killed a 29-year-old mother and two of her sons.

Authorities said 22-year-old Franklin Bostic is being held on a $300,000 bond after being charged with felony DUI.

Investigators say Bostic’s car hit another car head on while driving on state Highway 462 on Sept. 9, about four miles east of Ridgeland. Wendy Garcia and her 6-year-old son died shortly after the wreck, while Garcia’s 2-year-old son died several days later at a Savannah, Ga., hospital.

Troopers say Bostic, who was wearing his seatbelt, was treated at a hospital. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
