Consumer Minute: What attracts Mosquitoes

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Working out, drinking alcohol, all could be factors on why Mosquitoes find you more tasty. New research shows a link between mosquito attraction and blood type. According to the Smithsonian.com, mosquitoes landed on people with Type O Blood type nearly twice as often as people with type A. Folks with type B blood fell somewhere in the middle. Mosquitoes may also find pregnant women and those regular exercisers more attractive because of a higher body temp. And those on a picnic or having a drink, take note, one bottle or can of beer can also make you more tasty to the bugs but scientists don’t know why.
