Consumer Minute: Tax Free Weekend: What’s on the list.

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– SC Sales Tax Holiday runs August 1-3, but there are some items that are exempt from the 6% sales tax free weekend. You can buy pens, pencils, backpacks, even computers, tax free during the holiday. Shoppers can save on the State’s 6 percent sales tax, and in some counties, those applicable sale tax rates, as well. Moms, dads may not be looking to head to a hunting and fishing store but waders, are on the tax free list…so are skates, prom dresses, and wedding gowns. There are 125 plus items exempt.
