Riverbanks welcomes new penguin

Columbia, S.C. (WOLO)– Just in time for the 4th of July Riverbanks Zoo is welcoming its newest resident.
Say hello to Elmer the rockhopper penguin!
The zoo released this video of him hatching on June 13th.
The folks at the zoo say he is named Elmer because the glue was used to fix a crack in his egg while he was still developing.
