SC Gov. Haley to hold town hall, discuss agenda
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley plans to talk with voters in Irmo as she hits the road to give legislators grades and unveils her legislative plans for next session.
Haley’s planned town hall meeting in Irmo on Tuesday is the second in a series that wraps in Florence on Oct. 18.
The Republican governor announced plans for the report cards in March and some legislators called it a political ploy.
Haley’s report card measures how lawmakers handled her legislative priorities. Only 20 of 45 senators and 75 of the 123 representatives she graded were on the honor roll. Only one Democrat in the Senate and two in the House got top grades.
